The Sr. Event Technology Manager will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional responsible for collaboratively leading and managing the event technology stack for our large-scale internal and external events, whether in-person, hybrid, or virtual. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Events, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of identifying event needs and business processes that can be enhanced through technology and the available tools to achieve this. With a focus on the end user and ultimate benefit to the organization, they will help envision future possibilities and the technologies that can bring them to life. Extensive experience in event project management, especially in managing technical aspects of event registration and virtual event platform delivery, is essential. This role will collaborate cross-functionally across the organization (Corporate Events, Marketing, Data Analytics, Web Operations, Creative Services, Field Marketing, Procurement, Legal, etc.) to help facilitate change and ensure that technologies adhere to company standards while facilitating a seamless and efficient experience for all attendees, speakers, stakeholders, and partners.

Responsibilities

Role Overview:






  • Strategy: Crafting the optimal tech stack for the benefit of the broader global organization



  • Registration and Platform Management: Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the event registration and delivery platform(s), and all associated toolchains and integrations.



  • Reporting & Metrics: Ensure data integrity and security and generate detailed reports and metrics for event team(s) and stakeholders.



  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve workflows to enhance user experience and technology efficiency.



  • Technical Support: Provide technical and event support, troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.



  • Collaboration: Work closely with core event team(s), stakeholder, external partners, and vendors to ensure alignment on event goals and requirements.




Position Responsibilities:






  • Strategy Development (25%)



    • Collaborate with the global organization to identify areas within event planning, operations, and execution that could benefit from enhancements through event technology.


    • Leverage your in-depth understanding of event tech products and solutions to craft a strategy specifying the ideal organizational tech stack, aimed at transforming global events from their current state to the desired future state.


    • Work cross-functionally to secure buy-in for proposed solutions and develop Master Service Agreements tailored to organizational needs.


    • Conduct ROI analysis.







  • Vendor and Supplier Management (25%)



    • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to create statements of work (SOWs) and negotiate contracts.


    • Determine the need for SOWs with third-party agencies or professional services and manage contracts accordingly.


    • Oversee project management for agencies/professional services to ensure compliance with the agreed SOW.


    • Manage and monitor budget lines related to event technology.


    • Ensure bugs are documented and reported, while tracking requests for critical new functionalities or features.







  • Event Technology Requirements Mapping (20%)



    • Capture event requirements from stakeholders and event teams, translating them into executable features and functionality.


    • Assess and provide guidance on functionality feasibility, budget implications, and required resources, ensuring that technology features, constraints, etc., are understood by the event teams.


    • Stay updated on existing toolchain roadmaps, new products, and industry trends.


    • Identify, evaluate, pilot, and recommend new technologies and tools, collaborating with business partners to create, submit, and support business cases and project charters.







  • Security & Compliance (10%)



    • Partner with internals groups and teams to enforce internal IT infrastructure and data security requirements


    • Evaluate security and data compliance for proposed new tools, systems, and platforms







  • Technology Platform and On-Site Execution (10%)



    • Plan, manage, and deliver all facets of the registration and platform delivery process (online and onsite) for team events.


    • Collaborate with support teams to build, test, and deploy registration pages, event resources, logistics integrations, and attendee engagement tools (e.g., mobile applications).


    • Assist event teams with creating, targeting, and delivering email campaigns and event-related notifications and messages.


    • Plan and manage on-site registration and logistics, including attendee credential design and operations for large event engagements.


    • Identify, secure, and coordinate necessary on-site equipment and staff.







  • Reporting & Metrics (10%)



    • Create and maintain accurate event invitation and attendee records, including staff metadata, dietary requirements, accommodation needs, etc.


    • Collaborate with internal teams to update, maintain, forecast, and refresh data as required.


    • Work with event teams and stakeholders to identify data requirements before, during, and after events, build reporting capabilities, conduct data audits, and provide metrics and analytics.







Qualifications

Required Knowledge & Education:





  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Digital Event Strategist (DES) preferred


  • Bachelor's Degree: In Event Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field.


  • Extensive knowledge and experience developing and executing in-person, virtual and hybrid events in a commercial environment.


  • Expert knowledge of in-person and online event registration and delivery platforms, event management software, virtual event platforms, and other event-related technologies.


  • Familiarity with data analytics and measurement tools relevant to event success measurement.




Required Experience & Skills:





  • 5 to 7 years of experience with event technology project management


  • Proven track record developing an optimal tech stack strategy to streamline operations, enhance planning efficiencies, consolidate resources, and improve the customer experience.


  • Proficient in IT, including strong skills in Microsoft Office suite programs.


  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced, consensus-driven environment and achieve objectives across multiple workstreams.


  • Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional and diverse teams.


  • Strong strategic, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.


  • Capable of creating and delivering detailed analytical reports to stakeholders, and adept at analyzing data to enhance event experiences and outcomes.


  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.


  • Experience handling a high volume of small field events alongside large, multi-faceted flagship events.


  • Skilled in managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers.


  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.





Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.
