Job Description:
Step into an instrumental role. Work as a Trader position of an independent advisor franchisee with Sylvan Capital Advisors of Ameriprise Financial. We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Trader to join our team.
The Trader will be responsible for buying and selling securities, managing portfolios, new business set up, paperwork, applications, and trading for the practice.
Our ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of financial markets, a strong analytical mindset, and excellent numerical skills.
Ultimately, the role of the Trader is to execute trades accurately and effectively.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Execute trades accurately and effectively based on the needs of servicing advisors and internal departments.
Input and manage discretionary trading
Maintain consistent communication with all team members and promptly respond to ad-hoc requests
Maintain updated knowledge of regulations, practices, and financial products
Develop risk management strategies to avoid potential losses
Build relationships with clients and industry professionals, as needed
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Member of the client service team - daily interaction with team members to assure efficiency and quality outcomes
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or higher is required
2+ year's experience in financial services industry is preferred, but not required
Series 7 & 66 (63 & 65 equivalent) licenses preferred
Understanding of financial markets, trading operations, and portfolio management
Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
Familiarity with trading platforms and tools
Excellent numerical abilities and proficiency in MS Excel
Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor, Ameriprise Financial
Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the advisor's practice
Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow
Understanding of regulatory requirements and market etiquette
Compensation and Benefits:
Work hours: 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Location: Lancaster, PA
