Position Summary Responsible for all aspects of developing and leading a competitive women’s basketball program in the Big Sky Conference. This includes, but is not limited to: coaching, recruiting, retaining and counseling student-athletes; monitoring academic progress culminating in graduation; managing daily administrative duties of the program; fundraising and public relations; supervising assistants; adhering to all rules and regulations of the university, NCAA, and Big Sky.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum three years collegiate coaching required with proven success in recruiting.
  • Demonstrate excellent professional/interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to the total welfare of student-athletes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a successful Division I women’s basketball program both academically and athletically.
  • Demonstrate knowledge/application of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Head coaching, NCAA Division I, coaching at multiple levels, and program building experience preferred.
  • Ties to the Northwest and West Coast Junior Colleges preferred.
  • A skillset/ability that reflects commitment to student-athlete welfare and development
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills

Work Days/Hours
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $107,748 – $142,788, but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
