Windows Desktop Engineering involves defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of end user computing technologies in the corporate environment. This is a highly dynamic and collaborative team that covers a broad range of client applications and systems.

Responsibilities:


  • End user software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration, and support

  • Enterprise system management

  • Working escalated incidents to completion, including root cause determination and resolution

  • Collaboration with end users and support teams

  • Project team participation

  • New technology awareness, research, and system integration with a focus on system security

  • Participation in an On-Call rotation for critical escalation support


 


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of experience supporting Windows systems and related infrastructure software and hardware in a medium to large environment

  • 2+ years of experience implementing, migrating, managing, and administering Windows client Operating Systems

  • 2+ years of experience supporting desktop productivity software, including Microsoft 365 Apps, Adobe products, and web browsers

  • 2+ years of experience securing diverse technologies, platforms, and applications

  • 2+ years of experience with scripting, automation, and application packaging using PowerShell

  • In-depth technical knowledge of multiple hardware vendor platforms (desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals)


 


  • 6+ years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large technology deployments across an enterprise environment

  • Expertise with a broad range of client management tools, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, and Microsoft Configuration Manager

  • Experience administering and supporting computers in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)

  • Experience working with desktop virtualization technologies and platforms, such as VMware, and Hyper-V

  • Experience in Windows OS and application hardening and vulnerability remediation

  • Experience working in a process structured environment, which includes Change Management, incident management and Disaster Recovery preparedness

  • Solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business and compliance requirements
