Job Description:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and cost-effective estimates for mechanical and piping underground, excavation, backfill, civil/sitework, utility piping installations, and above-ground mechanical construction projects. This role involves analyzing project data, conducting quantity takeoffs, coordinating with procurement for subcontractor and vendor quotes, and ensuring estimates align with scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality expectations.




Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and present estimates to leadership with supporting documentation.

  • Analyze proposals, drawings, and specifications to determine labor, material, and time requirements.

  • Perform and validate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.

  • Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors.

  • Assess labor rates, market conditions, and regional cost factors.

  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.

  • Conduct site visits to understand construction methods and conditions.

  • Support proposal development and contribute to business growth initiatives.



Requirements:




  • 2 -7 + years of estimating experience (construction industry preferred).

  • Familiarity with contract pricing models (Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Unit Pricing).

  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project).

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented with a proactive approach.



Additional Info:


Pay range: $75-110K DOE; we are open to a variety of experience levels!


Location: 100% on office in Little Canada


Type: direct hire with full benefits!
