Job Details:
SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Assist in building/fabricating equipment and structures by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, welder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Fabricates equipment and/or equipment parts.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Must have be able to read blue prints.
- Must be able to weld using different types of welding devices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at minimum of 6 months of welding experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess basic computer and office skills with the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to adequately support business objectives within the Maintenance Department.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess the ability to operate a forklift or pallet jack and ability to obtain these licenses.

While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is routinely exposed to moving mechanical parts; routinely exposed to high, precarious places while equipped with proper safety and protective gear; routinely exposed to fumes or airborne particles while equipped with proper personal protective equipment (PPE); occasionally exposed to a risk of electrical shock while equipped with proper PPE; routinely exposed to moderate to strong vibration; routinely exposed to excessive noise levels requiring hearing protection; and routinely exposed to inclement weather conditions including but not limited to high humidity, rain, wind, extreme cold and extreme heat.
SAFETY
Must be able to do the following: keep work area clean and free of clutter (housekeeping), use appropriate and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, use the correct tool for each job assignment, report any injury of oneself or coworker to Management, report and document job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible), inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues, and follow all safety rules and guidelines. ALWAYS read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before using a chemical and ask your Supervisor or Manager questions if you do not understand it. Make sure you and your fellow workers understand and follow the instructions included in the SDS. Lockout/tag out is mandatory when working on equipment. Use the provided lockout/tag out procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE
The shift times are as follows:
Sunday - Friday 08:00 am to 05:00 pm
Sunday - Thursday - 8:am to 5:00 pm
Rotates every other week.
