Hours: M-F 7am-3:30pm, weekend and holiday rotations required.




JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Technical/Phlebotomy- Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
  
  


• 
  Customer Service- Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Utilize a customer focus in completing assignments, communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner. Promptly attend to requests and concerns.

Develop positive working relationships, interact in a respectful, professional manner. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members.   Compliance- Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and/or accreditation standards. Document compliance as necessary. May be responsible for ensuring that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective, and/or efficient environment for employees, patients, and/or families.
  
  

To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
  
  


• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
  
  


• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
