We are seeking a Vice President, Operational Risk Management to lead the 2nd line risk management strategy for Global Retirement & Insurance (GRI), in partnership with 1st line and Enterprise Risk colleagues globally. The VP reports directly to the GRI Chief Risk Officer. The position requires a deep understanding of Prudential’s individual and institutional retirement and insurance businesses, the financial services industry overall, and risk management principles. The successful candidate will be a leader who cultivates an environment of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and growth.

What you can expect:
Responsibilities include:
• Building collaborative relationships with business and control function leaders, and being viewed as a trusted advisor by key stakeholders
• Fostering proactive risk management aimed at achieving successful business outcomes
• Identifying and addressing cross-organizational themes to advise and influence the current and emerging risk landscape
• Boldly advancing the use of data and analytics to identify and mitigate risks
• Owning and driving specific internal control efforts based on changes in the risk landscape
• Preparing senior leader, governance and Board reporting
• Supporting and monitoring adherence to enterprise risk standards and risk measurement in line with the company’s risk appetite
• Providing leadership that motivates, engages, and develops individuals and teams outside the boundaries of direct reporting relationships

What you’ll need:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 10+ years of relevant business, risk or control function experience
• Outstanding influencing skills and experience engaging with an executive-level audience
• Superior relationship management skills with the ability to partner and build professional relationships in a cross-functional environment
• Adaptability and flexibility to work well with a diverse portfolio of people, processes, and functions
• Operational and execution mindset, balancing speed to action with thoughtful consideration of possible approaches and options
• Track record of success demonstrating operational excellence on job related deliverables
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Clear and effective writing skills

It’d be a plus if you had:
• Familiarity with and understanding of financial risks, including credit, market, and insurance risk
• Experience working in businesses outside the U.S.
• An advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, or related fields
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, etc.)

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $213,000.00 to $288,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
