JOB SUMMARY

The Corporate Senior Safety Manager ensures the safety, health, and environmental well-being of employees and the organization. The Corporate Senior Safety Director role is responsible for the strategic planning and leadership of all aspects of developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety policies and programs across TWG, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture through training, communication, and incident investigation to minimize workplace injuries and accidents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Responsible for enterprise-wide safety systems for national and international sites.

  • Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive safety and health programs at TWG.

  • Serve as the safety subject matter expert at an enterprise-wide level, with the ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders, from frontline employees to C-suite officers.

  • Directly supervise all corporate level safety staff, including career and professional development.

  • Responsible for TWGs workers compensation management program, including supervision of TWGs Workers Compensation Manager.

  • Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer workplace.

  • Collaborates with functional management to develop site plans and serve as company contact for site injury and incident notification, investigation, and injury management.

  • Provides management teams with guidance on health and safety industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.

  • Oversees the planning and implementation of safety and compliance training programs, providing guidance to maintain consistent programs across TWGs entire footprint.

  • Oversees the performance of safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow-up assessments.

  • Manages the safety budget for the Corporate EHSS Department.

  • Oversees and manages contract relationships for safety systems and services at a corporate level.

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory agency inspections.

  • Serves as a public figure for TWG in both industry groups and with external agencies.

  • Leads the collaboration with other internal TWG departments to help ensure effective implementation of safety programs and initiatives.

  • Continually educates themselves on new and emerging regulations and laws that have the ability to impact TWGs operations and leads the effort to implement rule changes for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in an industrial safety related field and a minimum of 8+ years EHSS management experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred.

  • In-depth working knowledge of general industry safety and health standards (OSHA, Cal-OSHA, SafeWork).

  • Prior work experience with EPA, DHS, NFPA, ANSI and other regulatory/advisory agencies.

  • Prior experience overseeing regulatory programs across multiple industrial locations is required, experience across multiple states and/or countries preferred.

  • Proven experience in managing projects, planning, and driving efficient meetings.

  • Experience supervising other safety professionals, with an emphasis on career and professional development.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Prior work experience with implementing regulatory standards in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have strong background in leading incident investigation and root cause analysis programs.

  • Experience with implementing and overseeing site security programs preferred.

  • Skilled in the use of all MS Office 365 programs at an intermediate to advanced level.

  • Must be able to read, fully comprehend, and implement requirements of laws, regulations, and technical documents.

  • Skilled in effectively communicating in oral and written form to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exemplify all company procedures and policies.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) – Desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee must be able lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies.

  • Working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors and related warehouse/production equipment and associated noise levels.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks in the warehouse/production environment.

  • Must be able to travel to all TWG facilities, including NY and Australia.

  • Expected travel up to 50% of working days.

COMPENSATION


  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $128,000 - $192,000.

  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
