JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary purpose:

The Senior Manager-Corporate Development will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth, financial health and strategic objectives through expertise in corporate development, sustainability and financial analysis. The incumbent will leverage their skills in financial modeling, project management, investor relations, and strategic initiatives to contribute effectively to the company's long-term success.Minimum Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Accounting, Earth Sciences, Economics or a related discipline.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Corporate Development or Investment Banking within the energy sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, Quick Books, Spotfire, VBA and SQL.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient accounting and financial skills.
  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, and follow company policies.

Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:

  • At least three (3) years' experience in sustainability or decarbonized energy within the energy sector.

  • Corporate Development

    • Lead industry monitoring and analysis to identify growth opportunities
    • Use business and financial diligence on potential acquisitions, capital projects and other corporate initiatives.
    • Utilize financial modeling to evaluate the accounting, valuation, and leverage effects of potential acquisitions, capital projects and other corporate initiatives.
    • Oversee the execution of acquisitions, project, and other corporate initiative execution as required.

  • Treasury

    • Utilize financial modeling to evaluate the accounting, valuation, and leverage effects of capital structure alternatives.
    • Draft capital offering documentation and maintenance of data support for disclosures.
    • Provide strategic support with equity and debt financing activities.

  • Investor Relations

    • Collect and analyze corporate financial data in order to provide management with internal reports in support of investor communication.
    • Develop management presentations for investor meetings.
    • Assist with drafting of press releases for the investor/financial community.
    • Provide peer/competitor analysis, monitoring, and benchmarking.

  • Stability/Sustainability Initiatives

    • Develop and implement sustainability metrics and processes across the organization.
    • Support strategic initiatives and climate-related scenario analysis.

  • Project Management

    • Coordinate the development and deployment of new processes and data collection methods.

  • Financial Analysis and Modeling

    • Conduct financial analysis for major transactions, including M&A and commercial contracts.
    • Develop corporate financial models for long-term planning and strategic decisions.

  • Communicating and Reporting

    • Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
    • Manage personnel related matters, including providing performance-based feedback, providing support and completing administrative paperwork as needed.
    • Assist in the management of the budget and other financial measures of the Corporate Development department.
    • Provide support in conducting regular evaluation of the Corporate Development structure for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
    • Collaborate with a variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

  • Safety and Compliance

  • Other Responsibilities

    • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special projects may be assigned.
