Position Summary:
The Engineering Project Manager maintains overall responsibility for project(s) assigned to include execution, budget, contractual compliance and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops Project Execution Plans
Responsible for reporting on projects internally and externally
Displays technical and commercial aptitude in daily tasks.
Leads internal and client project meetings
Communicates with discipline leads and internal stakeholders to ensure the project team understands project scopes, specifications, required deliverables and manpower requirements
Ensures project team are following GIS Engineering, LLC quality standards and procedures
Ensures project team members are following procurement and subcontracting GIS SOPs.
Coordinates change management
Maximizes profitability for GIS Engineering, LLC
Manages relationships with clients and project team members to create an environment for project success
Ensures proper project controls are in place throughout a project to include project budget (manhour/cost) and project schedule
Leads the preparation of proposals, bid packages and presentations
Performs project risk assessments
Participates in business development activities
Leads development of proposals, bid packages and presentations
Implements safety protocols in accordance with GIS and client safety standards.
Ensures contract compliance
Coordinates contract negotiations
Willingness to travel to work location, client sites, and local GIS offices as required.
Develops and presents project portfolio performance summaries for executive review.
Independently manages a program of projects having multiple project teams
Qualifications:
PE certification is preferred
PMP or other project management certification is preferred
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university required
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager and minimum 15 years of industry relevant experience
Physical Requirements:
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel.
Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
