Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.



The Role



We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Associate with interests in structural forensic investigation, litigation support, risk loss consulting, structural repair, and retrofit design. IN this role, you'll execute structural investigations of existing buildings and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. The investigations include failure cause and origin analysis, life cycle cost and feasibility analyses, risk loss insurance, claims response, and litigation support. You will also will provide direction to junior staff, coordinate interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing initiatives, develop and manage clients, and lead pursuits to secure work. The role involves working directly with a variety of clients, including attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals, and may include serving as an expert witness in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.



Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with other groups, offices, and practices on work-sharing needs and opportunities.


  • Lead and manage project teams to meet project delivery objectives (scope, schedule, budget, and quality).


  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.


  • Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and p erform peer reviews and condition assessments, including cost estimating.


  • Assist the Renewal practice when needed.


  • Conduct emergency response stabilization and repairs.


  • Perform engineering assessments and analysis.


  • Investigate design and construction defects and analyze professional standards of care.


  • Conduct code analysis and evaluate the extent and cause of damage.







Requirements


  • Master's degree preferred in structural engineering or related field.


  • PE and/or SE License required; NCEES profile a plus.


  • Willingness to travel with the US and internationally.


  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 6+ years in design.


  • Strong technical writing skills to express engineering opinions clearly.


  • Testifying experience preferred.


  • Strong leadership and project management skills.


  • Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus.
