What You Will Contribute:

Join us as a Quality Engineer (Group - Calibration & Measurement) and be at the heart of driving quality, innovation, and collaboration across our organization. In this role, you'll define, improve, and maintain our enterprise calibration and measurement programs while working on cutting-edge projects that elevate our products and processes. This will be a senior level engineer onsite role at our Milwaukee WI Headquarters.
The Quality Engineer (Group - Calibration & Measurement) will support Defining, Improving, and Maintaining Badger Meter's Calibration and Measurement Program in accordance with our quality management system and provide technical direction ensuring the effective coordination and execution of projects as they relate to the quality of our processes, services, and products.
This role is critical in supporting all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environmental, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and metrics. This includes the ability to work with internal and external customers to support Badger Meter's corporate values and goals.
Job Duties:
Establish and foster key relationships throughout the organization enabling effective performance to execute on commitments and deliver results while driving critical issues simultaneously.
Maintain a safe working environment (within the department and across the sites).
Collaborate with Group-Calibration & Measurement Manager to define, improve, and maintain enterprise calibration and measurement program.
Support the standardization of calibration metric reporting to include Past Due, Current Month Due, Due Next Month, and Lost List.
Support the maintenance calibration system and ensure onetime calibration of measurement equipment.
When required, determine adequacy of equipment with statistical analysis (GR&R & MSA)
Support NCMR/CAR/CAPA programs: provide timely disposition of non-conformances and properly identifying containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, verification activities, and follow up to assess effectiveness.
Support New Product Development (NPD) teams to identify, schedule, and execute all calibration and measurement related deliverables. Includes but not limited to identifying new measurement requirements, new measurement techniques, new measurement capabilities, new measurement programs, and load new calibration equipment into the calibration system.
Support the creation, review, and improvement of Badger Meter quality acceptance standards (QAS). Identify key industry standards and leverage them to drive uniformity within Badger Meter practices.
Support SQDCE metric development and collaborate cross functionally within a multi-site environment.
Identify opportunities for the improvement of quality procedures, product designs, manufacturing processes, and equipment. Continually drive to improve product uniformity while eliminating/minimizing non-conformances.
Support current calibration and measurement equipment, identify total productive maintenance (TPM) activates employing philosophies of the 8-Pillers and 4-Zeros.
Support and maintain statement of work for 3rd party calibration, vendor selection, and process improvements.
Mentor site quality teams to develop skills and expand capabilities.
Maintain professional level and technical skills through memberships in technical and professional societies, and by attending appropriate courses and seminars.
Sporadic domestic and international travel required as needed
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar field required; Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Qualifications:
CMM programming experience required
5+ years in Calibration and Measurement experience required
Strong interpersonal and leadership capability with the ability to shape and drive change
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively onsite and with remote locations
Ability to multi-task and drive critical issues simultaneously
Minitab/Excel for data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) preferred
Advanced proficiency with MS Office and related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) preferred
Intermediate knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) preferred
Intermediate proficiency with Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation preferred
Advanced knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100) preferred
