What you'll be doing
Designing Indoor sheet metal Enclosures and products that comply to customer specifications and industry standards and according to project plans
Developing mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials, and soliciting operator observations
Compiling and releasing bills-of-material (BOM) and drawings for all assigned projects. I'd like you to please be sure to develop engineering documentation as required.
Interfacing with suppliers on product design and cost issues.
Working with internal Product Management, Procurement, Production and Quality departments to procure raw materials and produce assigned products/projects.
Be an effective team player with the ability to communicate effectively with peers
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience developing 3D models and prototype products, preferably in the telecom power and/or electronics industry. Prior experience developing technical documentation is preferred.
Proficient in metal enclosure designs, including racks and indoor cabinets.
Understanding of AC and DC circuits, including 3-phase AC and low-voltage DC.
Must be proficient in using 3D/2D CAD modeling software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Data management experience is also preferred.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office and graphic presentation software, are also required.
Knowledge of power systems engineering and system control/alarm wiring.
Demonstrated knowledge of various engineering concepts and practices, including mechanical design and principles.
Ability to understand and resolve moderately complex technical issues is required.
Familiar with Telcordia, UL, National Electric Code, and NEBS requirements.
