Job Description:

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8-12 years of expertise in mechanical design, particularly with sheet metal, weldments, diecast aluminum, and injection-molded plastic. In this role, you will be responsible for designing custom assemblies for power distribution equipment, mounting brackets, and vertical structures tailored to the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using both rough hand calculations and ANSYS for validation. A sharp attention to detail and a focus on quality are essential for success. The position requires the design and documentation of parts, assemblies, and the overall management of project development from conception to production. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop custom assemblies for power distribution equipment, mounting brackets, and monopoles.
  • Conduct FEA simulations using ANSYS and hand calculations to validate designs.
  • Manage projects from initial concept through to full-scale production.
  • Create and maintain detailed product assemblies, parts, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality results and successful project completion.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on detail and deadlines.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8-12 years of hands-on experience in product development and mechanical design.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and FEA (ANSYS).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with NEMA 3R electronic enclosures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with UL 50, UL 67, UL 98, and UL 508 standards is desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
