Who WE Need
In this role you will be responsible for ownership of the First Plant Run Process, problem product investigation, assisting technicians with lab trials, coordinating improvement/efficiency trials, 1St pass yield analysis, investigating how to improve products, writing new ISO Procedures, and data analysis of KPIs. In addition, you will develop, coordinate, and implement various activities pertaining to Penn Color's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with guidelines, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a science or related field preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have basic proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; Minitab preferred
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Detail-oriented, self-starter with high attention to detail and ability to work on and coordinate multiple projects/assignments.
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage small to medium-sized projects and effectively participate in cross-functional teams.
Hands-on experience with test equipment including polymer processing and the ability to understand the working mechanisms and methodologies
Proven ability to follow procedures
Color experience is preferred
Aptitude as self-starter
Excellent interpersonal and team skills
What YOU Can Do For Us
Ownership of First Plant Runs with the goal of improving communication, identifying issues prior to product run, and improving the success rate of each FPR:
Create each product form for each new FPR
Meet with each department as needed
Assist production during the production of the FPR
Assist the QC technicians with any adds
Report back to the group with any noted concerns and assist with any investigations to help improve future runs
Identify extended QC times and problem products:
Pounds (not FG)
Investigate and suggest improvement options
Improve overall adds rate and success of the product
Assist QC Technicians with corrections
Additional Main Responsibilities:
Manage projects, perform quality engineering tasks and conduct audits with limited direction
Perform KPI and statistical data analysis utilizing statistical software and generate conclusions
Compile data requested for Management Review
Coordinate lab projects to improve the overall efficiency
Assist in training new technicians and reviewing new procedures with the entire QC team
Perform and document Nonconformance's, Deviations, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) as applicable
Act as lead on assigned CAPA requests to investigate, develop, drive and document required actions and closure within prescribed timelines
Perform Receiving, First Article and In-process inspections
Assist with customer complaint investigations, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions as requested; work with customers to provide required technical support and information regarding the investigation
Author documents: ISO and other Procedures, Specifications, Work Instructions, Equipment Qualification, Validation Protocol / Reports, Receiving Inspection, and Inspection / Test Method etc. as required
Assist with completion of equipment qualification, process validation protocols and reports
Participate in Lean Six Sigma projects
Participate in customer meetings and assist Program Management in the transition of new Customer designed products into production when requested
Review/Approve records pertaining to the controlled production environment
Review calibration certificates as requested
Support ISO Inspections, Customer and Third-party Audits as required
May perform internal quality audits
Follow established safety requirements and adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Management System
