The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, drafting, and developing product layouts using industry-standard CAD software while adhering to GD&T principles. They must have a strong understanding of mechanical components, feature analysis, and product development. Experience with NX is required, and CAM knowledge is a plus. This role also involves working on the shop floor to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, ensuring high-quality production outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Design & Drafting: Create, modify, and optimize product layouts using NX and other CAD tools based on customer specifications and engineering best practices.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T): Apply and interpret GD&T standards to ensure manufacturability and compliance with design requirements.
Feature Analysis & Product Testing: Assess design feasibility through tolerance analysis, FEA, and prototyping.
Troubleshooting & Shop Floor Support: Work closely with manufacturing teams to identify and resolve issues related to machining, assembly, and quality control.
Defective Product Analysis: Review and analyze failed components, identifying root causes and implementing design improvements.
CAM & Manufacturing Integration (Preferred): Support the integration of CAM software into the design process to optimize machining and production workflows.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 4+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Siemens NX for CAD modeling and drafting.
Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles.
