A growing renewable energy firm specializing in C&I solar project development is seeking a Finance Associate to support financial planning, project analysis, and corporate decision-making. This company is recognized for its expertise in structuring and financing complex renewable energy projects and is committed to expanding access to cost-effective clean energy solutions.

Role Overview

The Finance Associate will play a key role in financial modeling, project finance analysis, and corporate financial planning, working closely with project development, business development, and executive teams. This position will report directly to the Director of Project Development and will provide critical financial insights to support investment decisions and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Project Finance Analysis
  • Develop and maintain asset-level financial models for project evaluation and execution.
  • Conduct financial due diligence on potential projects, reviewing assumptions, contracts, and financial performance.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

Data Management & Analysis
  • Work cross-functionally to analyze the economics of renewable energy projects.
  • Automate and improve financial reporting processes for greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain financial databases and spreadsheets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Reporting & Strategic Insights
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for key stakeholders.
  • Support the Director of Project Development in presenting financial insights to senior management.
  • Assist in corporate financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Communicate financial data clearly to investors, capital markets, and executives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project finance, development finance, corporate finance, or investment analysis.
  • Strong background in financial modeling and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create detailed financial models.
  • Understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial insights clearly.
  • Experience modeling solar asset finance.
  • Experience in raising asset-level financing facilities.
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting.
