Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Automation Engineer direct hire position in Columbus, IN
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Sales, Project Managers, and the Engineering team with automation requirements for new projects.
Share automation expertise with Service Technicians and customers, providing support remotely or on-site as needed.
Conduct hardware and software system tests, including establishing test bench systems for validation.
Lead training sessions on automation topics tailored to diverse skill levels and experience.
Collaborate with Development and Service teams to implement new products, product modifications, and system improvements.
Design and deliver customer-focused PLC software, system concepts, and E-diagrams for retrofit projects.
Participate in a three-week training in Switzerland early in the role to gain expertise from technical specialists.
Analyze software, data, and system outputs to diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and provide actionable solutions for electronics-related challenges.
Assist the Projects and Sales teams with application-related tasks during non-troubleshooting periods.
Be available for on-call support, including after-hours troubleshooting, to resolve customer system issues effectively.
Must have:
Ability for Domestic Travel up to 25%
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
Working in-depth technical knowledge of electronics and software
Hand on PLC Programming skills, they use IFM, SIAM, and Allen Bradley
