The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead and oversee a technical engineering team responsible for developing new product lines from concept to production, as well as enhancing existing product lines within the forestry and recycling industries. This role focuses on optimizing cost-effectiveness, improving product designs, and driving innovation while ensuring alignment with customer requirements. Additionally, the manager will mentor and provide strategic direction to the engineering department and site staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the maintenance, tooling, and engineering teams to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Oversee facility expansions, renovations, and coordinate with external contractors.
Develop and execute factory master plans and capital investments to meet market demands.
Implement automation and advanced technologies to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Guide, mentor, and support the manufacturing engineering team, fostering professional development.
Monitor production data, identify improvement areas, and implement necessary corrective actions.
Manage the department's budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control.
Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Forestry, or related fields) or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8+ years in progressive leadership roles within engineering-related disciplines.
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for 3D modeling and fabrication design.
In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
Expertise in electrical, software, or mechanical engineering disciplines.
Extensive experience with plant engineering, industrial processes, and tooling.
Required knowledge of hydraulics and diesel systems; control systems and powertrain knowledge is a plus.
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly oversee Product Engineers, Product Safety Engineers, Manufacturing Supervisors, and Control Systems Supervisors to ensure team efficiency and innovation.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering environment.
