Total Aviation Staffing is seeking a Director of Finance & Analysis for a leading regional airline. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic financial planning and analysis that supports the airline's short- and long-term operating and capital plans. The ideal candidate will be a proactive financial leader who can provide data-driven insights, optimize cost structures, and drive strategic decision-making at the executive level.
This position requires a strong analytical mindset, financial expertise, and leadership skills to develop and implement financial strategies that improve operational and financial performance. The Director of Finance & Analysis will work closely with senior leadership, acting as a key financial consultant for business initiatives, capital planning, and cost management.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary financial partner to divisional leadership, providing financial insights and performance updates.
Lead the annual operating plan, monthly forecast, and month-end close process.
Oversee capital budgeting strategy and planning, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate investments, cost drivers, and operational trends.
Support divisional capital planning and provide financial consultation for capital expenditure requests.
Partner with key stakeholders such as American Airlines Regional Finance/Capital and PSA's Shared Services Organization (SSO) to ensure financial compliance.
Lead, develop, and mentor finance and payroll teams, identifying strengths and opportunities for growth.
Conduct post-mortem analyses of capital investments to assess financial performance against projections.
Provide financial and analytical support during commercial contract negotiations.
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Maintenance Planning teams to align labor and provisioning forecasts with budget targets.
Stay informed on industry trends and competitive performance, applying insights to enhance financial planning.
Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) requirements for the Finance department.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
4-6 years of experience in accounting, finance, or corporate planning.
3-5 years of management or project leadership experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn financial systems (e.g., Sage, MAS, Hyperion).
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interaction at all levels of management.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
MBA or CPA certification.
In-depth knowledge of commercial and regional aviation financial operations.
