The Facility Manager (FM) is responsible for managing processing, shipping/receiving, and overall facility activities. This role focuses on driving operational efficiency, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA standards. The FM leads staffing, production fundamentals (quality, cost, and output), and facility transformation projects, including process improvements, asset deployments, and new capabilities.
In alignment with Sprout's mission as a leading IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) provider, the FM ensures a safe and high-performing work environment, maintains strong customer partnerships, and fosters continuous improvement through Lean methodologies (including Kaizen & 5S).
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Provide strategic direction to optimize operational efficiency, throughput, and cost management.
Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Partner with Sprout's outbound sales team to ensure monthly revenue targets and product quality goals are met.
Lead facility transformation projects, including process improvements, asset deployments, and new capabilities.
Foster a high-performance culture, mentoring Supervisors and Leads to drive accountability and innovation.
Operational Excellence
Implement Lean methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, and other process improvement techniques) to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly staffing to maximize production, drive sales velocity, and meet customer SLAs.
Decrease overall speed to process and move product to finished goods inventory.
Track equipment utilization rates, ensuring high uptime and operational reliability.
Work with compliance teams to maintain R2v3, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certifications.
Financial & Budget Management
Develop and manage the facility's operational budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
Monitor and adjust cost and revenue drivers to optimize profitability.
Track departmental budgets and take corrective actions to meet financial goals.
Compliance, Quality & Safety
Ensure compliance with R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA standards, supporting audit preparation and reporting.
Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to OSHA and internal safety policies.
Maintain a safe operating environment while maximizing efficiency and uptime.
Employee Development & Team Management
Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluation to build a strong team culture.
Conduct Gemba walks and encourage employee-driven process improvements.
Take responsibility for disciplining and coaching employees, ensuring clear expectations.
Customer & Vendor Relations
Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Address customer concerns proactively to enhance service quality and satisfaction.
Oversee procurement and supplier management to ensure cost efficiency and operational reliability.
Experience
Minimum 4+ years in facility management, operations management, or general management.
Strong background in manufacturing, ITAD, electronics recycling, logistics, or a related field.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and overseeing large-scale operations.
Knowledge
Expertise in Lean methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, and other process improvement techniques).
Strong understanding of R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA compliance.
Familiarity with financial planning, budgeting, and cost control.
Knowledge of IT asset disposition (ITAD), electronics processing, and data security is a plus.
