About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for rapidly designing, prototyping, and validating spacecraft subcomponents, ensuring seamless integration within complex mechanical systems. The role requires a balance of ingenuity, analytical rigor, and hands-on execution to deliver high-quality, flight-ready hardware on aggressive timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and qualification of critical spacecraft components from concept to flight.
Rapidly iterate on mechanical designs, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Conduct detailed analysis and correlation to validate hardware performance in space environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate mechanical components within broader spacecraft systems.
Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to refine designs for efficient production.
Ideal Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience taking spacecraft hardware from concept through to successful deployment.
Extensive expertise in CAD design and mechanical modelling.
Deep understanding of structural joints, including bolted and bonded connections.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing tolerances and machining capabilities.
Experience working within highly collaborative, interdependent engineering teams.
