The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality and inspection of both incoming and outgoing materials. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to ensure product integrity and profitability.
Quality Manager Responsibilities:
Maintain the Quality Management System and relevant certifications/accreditations (AS9100, ISO 17025, and Nadcap MTL & HT).
Manage mechanical test laboratories, as well as calibration, certification, and inspection areas.
Oversee internal and external laboratory and inspection activities, including personnel supervision, scheduling, and equipment maintenance/calibration.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), statistical process control (SPC) charts, and product specifications.
Certify, document, and interpret material test results, including chemistry, tensile strength, hardness, metallographic, and physical analysis.
Ensure laboratory safety compliance, including adherence to environmental and workplace safety policies and procedures.
Quality Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science/Technical field (Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemistry, or Materials Science) with experience in Quality Management.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Minimum of four years of experience in a metals or materials production/laboratory environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical software and SAP systems is a plus.
Experience conducting formal Quality System audits in manufacturing environments.
