JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on our fabrication processes, including, but not limited to, CAM/Plasma CNC table, forming, welding, and grinding. The foundation of this role will be developing, implementing, and maintaining optimal, cost-effective processes and documentation, as well as process improvement, process documentation, quality initiatives, and technology acquisition.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
Lead process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Evaluate equipment and tools for efficiency improvements, monitor OEE
Design and implement new tooling
Work with vendors to determine tool/technology specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Assist in quality improvement by documenting problems, determining root causes, and implementing preventative measures
Create and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for documentation of assembly and repair procedures
Carry out process improvement, problem resolution, and project management in an effective and timely manner
Create and conduct process training for new and current employees
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist with SolidWorks Models/drawings and Bill of Materials
Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
Adhere to company policies

INTERACTION WITH:
Most departments, including but not limited to, Design Engineering, Production, Facilities and Quality
Equipment vendors
EXPERIENCE:
Strong CNC Plasma, welding, metal forming, and assembly experience
Capital equipment selection and justification
Visual Management, Day by Hour charts, kaizen, setting up Kanban replenishment and Cell/Value Stream layout
EXPERIENCE (cont'd):
Overhead cranes and forklifts
Work as a team with Engineering, Operations, Sales & Marketing and Finance
SolidWorks and CAD software skills and experience a plus
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Fixture, work holding, tool, and gauge design and manufacture
DFMEA experience.
Two (2) years of Manufacturing Engineering required
Four (4) years of relevant experience preferred
EDUCATION:
College education or Trade school required
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering preferred
