You're a seasoned senior cost estimator / project manager who knows the D.C. architecture and engineering scene like the back of your hand, with a great local network and 10+ years of experience in pre-construction.
You wont be just number crunching as you will be the bridge between technical teams and clients, a mentor to junior staff, and the person people rely on when things get complicated.
What You'll Do:
Lead complex pre-construction projects from start to finish.
Be the go-to for clients-building relationships, identifying project needs, and keeping things on track.
Manage project teams, assign tasks, and ensure deadlines are met without the drama.
Handle quantity take-offs, budget estimates, and make sure projects don't bleed cash.
Visit sites, attend pre-bid meetings, and face contractors when needed.
Mentor entry-level estimators, helping them grow without hand-holding.
What You Need:
10+ years in pre-construction or construction project operations.
A Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or something similar.
Deep technical knowledge of construction systems-civil, structural, MEP, interiors, exteriors.
Solid leadership skills. You can manage people without micromanaging.
Strong communication skills. Clear, concise, and client-friendly.
Proficiency in estimating software and a knack for problem-solving.
