What You'll Do:
Take the Lead: Manage projects up to $5M (or multiple projects totaling that value) with autonomy and precision.
Solve Smart: Identify value engineering and fabrication opportunities, offering clients creative, cost-saving alternatives.
Bid with Confidence: Analyze project documents, negotiate with vendors, and secure competitive pricing to keep us ahead.
Build Partnerships: Promote our full range of services to make us the preferred project partner.
Prioritize Safety: Craft site-specific safety plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to keep every project secure.
Stay On-Site: Maintain a presence at project sites, understanding scopes across trades like electrical and structural.
Master the Timeline: Oversee construction schedules, analyze subcontractor plans, and address delays proactively.
Handle the Details: Process field work orders, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, and submittals with expertise.
Drive Diversity: Develop and implement MBE/WBE/DBE work plans with strategic partners.
Know the Numbers: Track job costs, forecast monthly, and monitor labor metrics with a deep understanding of trade agreements.
Share Wisdom: Lead post-project reviews, share metrics, and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Mentor the Next Generation: Train and delegate to Project Engineers and Interns, fostering growth and collaboration.
What You Bring:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 5-10 years with a mechanical contractor-bring your proven expertise.
Tech Skills: Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint). Bonus for Bluebeam, Penta, or OnBase know-how.
Safety Cred: OSHA 30 Hour Card required; additional certifications are a plus.
Ownership: You take responsibility and act with integrity in every situation.
Proactivity: You spot risks, act with urgency, and adapt under pressure.
Communication: Clear and effective-whether writing, speaking, or choosing the right medium (email, phone, face-to-face).
