The Biltmore Los Angeles is our historic hotel opened in 1923 and located opposite Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. The hotel has 70,000 square feet (6,500 m2) of meeting and banquet space and 683 rooms.
The Director of Revenue Management is to strategically coordinate the revenue management processes and procedures for the hotel to maximize hotel's revenue. Ensuring group and transient inventory controls are optimized, developing, monitoring and adjusting sales and pricing strategies, analyzing demand factors, forecasting, competitive analysis, distribution channel data integrity.
Overview of Responsibilities: • Ensure hotel is exercising best in class revenue management techniques based on market analysis, demand forecasting, channel marketing, and inventory management. • Accountable for leading pricing, positioning and inventory of hotel along with processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis. • Work in conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure sales, pricing and distribution strategies are aligned for success. Ensure adoption of company's standard operating procedures. • Participate in Budget discussions and business reviews for hotel, give guidance and suggestions where necessary to ensure revenue maximization. • Develop good business relationships with all OTA's and Third-Party providers to ensure hotel is able to maximize revenue from these streams. • Ensure all room and rate plan codes are built and mapped correctly; oversee activation within agreed timelines. • Guarantee accurate rates and inventory allotments to promote rate parity through all B2B and B2C bookings channels • Daily review and implementation of room accommodation and rate inventory controls. Includes weekly implementation of roll-in controls. Ensure group inventory and cut-off dates are managed according to demand. • Implement all blackout dates and review monthly to determine if adjustments are needed. Maintain accurate demand information in yield system. • Work with Director of Front Office to ensure that sell-out strategies are in place, and that system is balanced daily. Conduct a weekly Revenue Management Meeting where the appropriate booking period is evaluated for proper rate and availability control. • Provide a synopsis of results vs. decision from the previous week and lead discussion on future issues such as booking pace, pricing strategies, marketing opportunities and the competitive environment. • Daily review of Delphi reports: group bookings, Backlog (monthly), Daily Transaction, Booking Review, Lost Business, and Booking Status reports. Address concerns and action plans with Director of Sales. • Ensure forecast and General Ledger are balanced daily as it relates to past actuals. • Coordinate and implement updates for group rates in Delphi for the 1-3-year window. Develop annual transient pricing. Ensure pricing in consistent in all distribution channels (Windsurfer, Opera PMS, GDS, Internet). • Review and implement incentive programs in Front Office and Reservations, with particular focus on need periods, in conjunction with Reservations Manager and Director of Front Office.
Review end of month rooms statistics reports including Forecasting Strategy, Monthly Revenue Management Reports, STAR, Demand360 and provide critical analysis on performance vs. forecasts and results of implemented strategies. Conduct displacement analysis of group business, as needed, to determine impact potential business will have on RevPAR. • Review all tentative and definite group bookings, to ensure that they support implemented strategies. • Complete weekly booking pace reports and analysis on pace, recommending strategy changes when needed. Analyze past and present trends and make recommendations for future strategies.
Prepare all Weekly, Monthly, Rolling Forecasts and Annual Budget using Ideas, FCSB, Excel, Delphi, and Demand360.
Ideal Education & Experience: • Business, Statistical Analysis or Hotel Management degree preferred; at least five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Previous hotel (property level) revenue management experience essential, prior reservations and front office experience desired. • Knowledge of G3 Revenue Mgmt., Opera PMS, Ideas Yield Management, Windsurfer Reservations, RateGain Channel Manager, Demand360, Rate360, Delphi Sales & Catering • Comprehensive understanding of OTA market • Solid knowledge hotel reservations procedures • Ability to effectively communicate in a positive manner with internal and external constituents • Strong commercial awareness

As an integral member of the hotel's team, the Director of Revenue Management must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and discretion. This individual will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, should be highly confident of their abilities, and be considered a detail-oriented and entrepreneurial person who can tackle complex assignments. He/she should be highly numerate and analytical. They will need to be a consummate team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills up and down the organizational chart.
He/she will have a demonstrated ability to exercise innovation in solving problems, manage deadlines/shift priorities, and be highly organized. The individual chosen will possess excellent judgment, maturity, and the highest level of ethical standards.
Compensation: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year based on experience.
