Support the rigorous evaluation of positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers using in vitro radiopharmacology techniques.
Responsibilities: • Conduct reproducible experiments that evaluate the interaction of radioactive small molecule ligands with their target proteins, including sample preparation, assay setup, and data analysis. • Understand the goal of each experiment and effectively communicate with stakeholders across project stages. • Interpret results and draw conclusions from multistage experiments, note significant deviations, then suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments. • Access and understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems within scientific discipline in a timely manner. • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, and appropriate handling of radioactive and biohazardous materials.
Skills: • Theoretical knowledge of ligand-receptor binding interactions and their application to drug discovery preferred. • Practical experience with plate-based filter binding assays or similar plate-based biochemical assays in 96-well plates strongly preferred. • Willingness and ability to work with radioactive materials including ³H, 18F, and/or 89Zr required. • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and nonlinear curve fitting using GraphPad Prism or similar required.
Education and experience: • Bachelor's Degree (Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field) or Master's Degree with 1-3 years of experience.
