Basic Purpose
Directs and coordinates the day to day activities of the regulatory services team to establish regulatory case strategy, develops and administers tariffs, develops regulatory compliance strategy, processes and tracks regulatory filings, and responds to customer complaints. Establishes and implements business objectives, strategies, and plans including identifying new processes and systems. Directs and allocates financial and employee resources. Implements and supports company programs and policies and leads specific filings and rule making proceedings as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs the developmentof the regulatory discovery process and tracks the status of regulatory filings, rates, and tariffs. Develops strategies for supporting positions or reaching settlement in regulatory matters. Ensures all compliance requirements and Commission orders are completed. Implements standard operating procedures and business practices for consistency in regulatory deliverables.
Tracks, reviews, analyzes and summarizes filings. Communicates with management, pertaining to regulatory filing strategy along with regulatory subject matter analysis and recommendations that will enable the company to achieve its corporate objectives. Ensures all compliance items are identified, tracked, monitored and implemented. Develops relationships to collaborate externally with stakeholders to further the company’s objectives. Serves as primary liaison with the PUCN. Develops and maintains relationships with PUCN and Operation Staff and intervenors in company regulatory matters to facilitate positive regulatory outcomes.
Provides interpretation of the service rules. Provides credible, expert testimony related to tariff matters including preparing testimony, discovery and work papers. Participates in negotiations with regulators.
Partners with legal and other stakeholders to develop objectives and case strategies for retail regulatory filings, utilizing knowledge of utility industry practices and/or benchmarks to ensure company’s business goals and objectives are met.
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of regulatory services staff and provides guidance. Manages resource allocation for related areas of responsibility.
Processes the formal regulatory complaints and works toward their resolution.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering or related field from an accredited school and 8 years of related work experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 12 years of related work experience with at least 5 years in a supervisor capacity.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required. Travel may be required to attend utility commission hearings and workshops in Las Vegas and Carson City.
Annual Salary: $137,000 (Min) to $161,200 (Mid); Up to 20% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
