Job Description :

The HPDC Supervisor is responsible for leading high-pressure die casting (HPDC) processes in automotive manufacturing. This role involves overseeing new vehicle model launches, managing resources, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The supervisor will also focus on continuous improvement, process validation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational performance in die-cast component production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in HPDC operations.
  • Oversee new vehicle model launches, including prototype builds and process validation.
  • Manage PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to assess and mitigate process risks.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to align with production targets.
  • Conduct cost analysis and feasibility studies for new equipment and retooling projects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, tooling teams, and manufacturing engineers to optimize die casting processes.
  • Implement advanced manufacturing tools and statistical methods to enhance efficiency and defect reduction.
  • Ensure HPDC processes meet automotive industry standards, including PPAP, APQP, and GD&T requirements.
  • Lead Kaizen and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve product quality, reduce cycle times, and streamline production.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and process support to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Oversee prototype development and support the industrialization of new components.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including:
  • Tooling and operation sheets
  • Machine and die design drawings
  • PFMEA and control plans
  • One-point lessons (OPLs) and emergency work orders (EWOs)
  • Software backup programs
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical tooling.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in HPDC manufacturing within the automotive industry.
  • Expertise in die design, tooling, and aluminum/magnesium casting techniques.
  • Experience in PFMEA, process validation, and prototype launch support.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and casting simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of automotive industry standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, and GD&T).
  • Experience in process optimization, defect reduction, and quality improvement.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel 20-40% as needed.
