Exxelia is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of electronic components. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer to drive testing initiatives, ensure compliance with quality standards, and support production in a fast-paced environment. This role involves collaborating with suppliers and ensuring high-quality outcomes through established processes and procedures, as well as continuous communication with cross-functional manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with suppliers, sourcing, and procurement teams to meet quality standards and delivery commitments.
Provide technical direction and evaluate production quality.
Partner with engineering and production teams to develop strategies for successful delivery and dependency management.
Execute First Article Inspections (FAIs), internal audits, and other quality programs.
Work with the QA Manager to implement and uphold the quality program; establish in-process inspection standards and testing methods.
Regularly review quality clauses in contracts and implement quality strategies for contract compliance.
Collaborate with QA Manager and Supply Chain to define raw material standards and testing procedures.
Conduct and manage FAIs using AS9100 FAI software and customer-designed Excel formats.
Oversee Final Inspection to ensure accuracy of testing data and certifications.
Obtain DPRV certification and act as a DQR Inspector on behalf of customers.
Support team members with training and expertise in inspection tools and test equipment; train new employees on quality processes during New Hire Orientation.
Lead root cause analysis and product issue resolution.
Manage the Orbital/Space testing department, MIL maintenance testing area, and Film Capacitor Quality Clinic.
Lead test teams on special projects and military maintenance programs.
Participate in MRB meetings to address material disposition.
Prepare reports for regulatory compliance and quality documentation; prepare and present quality data to internal team, customers, and suppliers as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
3+ years' experience in a quality engineering position or similar role; experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience with FAI report writing.
Strong communication and decision-making skills, attention to detail, and sense of accountability.
Excellent analytical skills for problem-solving, data analysis, and quality investigations; strong mathematical and technical skills, as well as an understanding of histograms and Pareto charts.
Soldi experience with Microsoft Office Suite, QMS, and ERP systems.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs, with or without accommodation.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of military quality standards.
