We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Intermodal Industrial Engineer to enhance the efficiency and productivity of our intermodal operations. This role involves evaluating and optimizing transportation systems, improving operational workflows, and applying industrial engineering principles to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and optimize intermodal transportation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other industrial engineering methodologies. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, safety, and operational effectiveness. • Utilize data analysis tools to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. • Design and implement facility layouts and workflow optimizations to improve terminal operations. • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions for operations. • Work closely with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to streamline logistics processes. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. • 1-2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or industrial engineering. • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and process improvement methodologies. • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is a plus. • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
