The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing support to the company's customers, sales organization, engineering, and manufacturing teams. The Applications Engineer position is dynamic with duties including the analysis of customer samples, management of wet chemistry lab, development of content for marketing, and the development of training materials. The candidate will be based out the Nashua NH facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide customers and sales team training, installation support, and technical assistance with the complete portfolio of laboratory instruments
Work closely with the sales team and customers to perform the analysis of samples in support of potential sales
Create professional laboratory reports to summarize testing methods, outcomes, and generate supporting data packages
Develop training materials and SOPs for preparation, storage, and handling of samples and reference materials
Maintain the highest level of safety, organization, and inventory of wet chemistry lab located production facility
Maintain calibration of all laboratory equipment
Develop content for marketing including application notes and white papers across multiple markets
Work with product development in the specification of new products including gathering voice of the customer input
Conduct webinars and seminars as needed
Travel to customer sites as reasonably requested by management
Experience, Skills, and Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, or science related field
5+ years' experience in an application support and/or technical support role, orequivalent laboratory experience
Comfortable working within a wet laboratory environment, and the safe handling of chemicals
Knowledge of light scattering instrumentation is highly desired
Excellent communication skills: Able to take complex, technical information and tailor it to the level and experience of the audience
Results Oriented: Effective in time management to prioritize duties for completion in a timely manner
Critical thinking and strong attention to detail: Has the ability to understand results from particle characterization experiments to support customer applications
Highly Adaptable: Possesses an ability to quickly learn new skills and methodologies as required by the project/task at hand
Must have a passion for science and an attitude of service
