As the Mechanical Production Engineer, you will be hands-on managing and moving products on the factory floor, performing fine mechanical assembly, electrical hardware assembly, metrology and performance verification, troubleshooting, quality control, cabling, software setup, and programming. Responsibilities:
Mechanical assembly of critical OEM or custom robotic products, fine motor skill assembly and the ability to make fine adjustments.
Integrate control systems with mechanical products (software setup, servo tuning, motion profile creation, etc.).
Perform metrology processes using laser interferometers, optical equipment, capacitive gauges, and more. This includes conducting product and production specification validation.
Identifying anomalies/issues with stages and systems, troubleshooting potential solutions and initiating discussions with our design and production teams, and finally determining and implementing solutions.
Create production tools and documentation, from developing test procedures, fixturing, or software, to writing customer-facing reports and product manuals or internal assembly and metrology instructions.
Ensure all products meet quality standards.
Provide feedback to the engineering and operations teams on ways to improve the product and to create production efficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics preferred.
Understanding of engineering principles to identify problems and work with our design team to determine solutions.
Demonstrate attention to detail throughout the entirety of a project and performance validation.
Experience doing hands-on engineering work with a slow methodical approach; specifically, metrology and fine mechanical assembly.
CAD and design software skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to stand for long periods of time with periodic sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting 10 to 40 pounds.
Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Predominately on the production floor with a significant amount of time spent in the testing lab.
