We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to join our team and lead the operational aspects of our growing business.
Position Overview:
As the Director of Operations, you will oversee the daily operations of our commercial construction projects and ensure smooth and efficient project execution from start to finish. You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our company, ensuring project delivery excellence, and managing a team of professionals dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of all construction projects, ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution.
Project Oversight: Oversee project schedules, budgets, and performance, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of project managers, site supervisors, and operational staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term operational strategies to meet the company's growth objectives.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations and ensure favorable contract terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all projects meet the company's high standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines, budgets, and overall success.
Financial Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and maximizing profitability while maintaining quality.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all operations, budgets, and project performance. Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and financial performance.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance project delivery.
Safety Management: Uphold a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing large-scale commercial construction projects, with at least 10 years in an operations leadership role.
Strong understanding of construction processes, project management methodologies, and relevant regulations.
Experience in managing and mentoring a diverse team of professionals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and resources effectively.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Bachelor's degree in construction management.
