Ensures a "safety first" culture in the workplace for all locations and departments.
Aligns with senior management on the vision and business goals and objectives.
Works with plant supervision and floor personnel daily to drive productivity and ensure optimized manufacturing processes are in place.
Conducts daily Gemba meetings to review with area supervisors daily KPIs related to production.
Monitors floor performance daily and ensures that visual manufacturing methods are used to communicate performance and goals.
Ensures that product quality objectives are met.
Works with the operations team to ensure that manufacturing processes are followed.
Works with the Maintenance Manager to establish preventative maintenance and machine reliability programs. Ensure that maintenance programs are followed.
Participates in production planning meetings to set manufacturing priorities and work through obstacles to ensure productivity and inventory objectives can be met.
Reviews KPI performance weekly and puts corrective action plans in place when goals are not met.
Integrates with commercial leadership for understand demand forecast and plan material and cost savings tied to annual volumes.
Work with commercial team to ensure successful product trials and qualifications are met in a timely manner.
Works with Customer Service to address customer needs with regards to on time delivery.
Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws.
Manages manufacturing projects, plans (utilizing MS Project) and schedules facility assignments, sets priorities and communicate progress.
Reviews manufacturing variances to establish the root cause of inefficiencies and costs. Puts corrective actions in place as required.
Prepares budgets for approval, including those for funding projects and implementation of programs.
Develop ROI calculations for new capital expenditure projects.
Resolves problems by adjusting priorities, schedules and reassignment of workforce when necessary.
Controls and consistently reduces obsolete and excessive inventory, provides inventory models to maintain inventory effectively and accuracy.
Confirms the location(s) is meeting contractual obligations to the customer.
Ensures sufficient capacity is available within the location to carry out the objectives and delivery of products.
Reviews all internal and external reporting.
Works with the operations team to develop training programs.
Ensures that proper machine cross training is established across all operators and documents who are trained on what equipment.
Analyzes operations to evaluate performance of the location(s) and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction or program improvement.
Approves and monitors work completion and performance by contractors.
Perpetually drives continuous improvement through corrective actions, cost savings initiatives utilizing tools designed for waste elimination and reduction in process variability.
Education & Experience:
A four-year bachelor's degree, engineering or science degree preferred, and 8+ years' experience in a similar role in Healthcare or Food and consumer Packaging.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
Experience in proper clean room manufacturing process, ISO class 4 and ISO 7
Knowledge of medical, pharmaceutical, dental and scientific packaging markets.
Experience in flexible packaging and/or flexographic printing preferred. Knowledge of Digital Printing is desired.
