De Wave Group is a global manufactor and global contractor for cruise ships and yachts, with steadily growing revenues, serving the full spectrum of cruise ship and yacht interior fit-outs, from new construction through refitting and after-sales service. The group for the Miami office, is looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in Naval Architecture and or Engineering background to lead and oversee ship design, construction, and refitting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of vessel design and engineering, combined with proven expertise in project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee ship design, construction, and refit projects from concept to delivery.
Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, engineers, shipyards, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, classification society standards, and safety protocols.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for project challenges.
Oversee contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement processes.
Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges in collaboration with the engineering team.
Maintain strong communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
Project Management Certification preferred.
5+ years of experience in naval architecture and shipbuilding projects.
Proven ability to manage large-scale maritime projects from initiation to completion.
Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.).
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in naval architecture design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, ShipConstructor, etc.).
Strong negotiation, budgeting, and stakeholder management experience.
Willingness to travel as needed for shipyard visits and client meetings.
