Job Description:

The Product Quality and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire product

quality lifecycle from prototype evaluation and compliance certification to post-market

performance analysis. This individual will develop quality control strategies, compliance

frameworks, and testing procedures while ensuring seamless collaboration between product

development, engineering, and suppliers.

As a key leader, this role will manage and mentor the Product Quality & Compliance team,

driving innovation and best practices in quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Compliance Leadership:
  • Develop and oversee product quality assurance strategies to ensure compliance with UL, NSF, ISTA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Establish testing protocols, inspection procedures, and risk assessment frameworks for all products.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between product development, engineering, and operations teams on quality expectations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product performance and reduce defect rates.
  • Product Testing & Issue Resolution:
  • Oversee incoming product inspections, ensuring that product samples from containers meet functional and quality standards.
  • Analyze customer feedback, identify recurring issues, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Establish and enforce data-driven decision-making processes for addressing product defects and vendor quality concerns.

  • Prototype & Pre-Production Evaluation:
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering teams to evaluate prototypes before production.
  • Define and enforce technical validation criteria to ensure all new products meet design. specifications.
  • Recommend design modifications based on testing results, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
  • Ensure all products comply with industry certifications, safety regulations, and government standards.
  • Manage third-party certification testing (UL, NSF, ISTA, etc.) and regulatory\ documentation.
  • Develop and implement internal compliance training for relevant teams.

Process Development & Documentation:
  • Create and maintain standardized testing workflows, quality checklists, and reporting systems.
  • Oversee the documentation of product inspections, defect reports, corrective actions, and compliance testing.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for quality assurance, ensuring consistency across product lines.

Vendor Collaboration:
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to enforce quality expectations, drive improvements, and negotiate corrective actions.
  • Lead quality audits of manufacturing partners to assess process compliance and performance.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in product quality assurance, compliance, or regulatory affairs within manufacturing or consumer products.
  • Proven leadership in developing quality programs, compliance frameworks, and vendor quality management.
  • Strong knowledge of product testing, risk assessment, and defect analysis methodologies.
  • Expertise in UL, NSF, ISTA, FDA, and other relevant certification processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing teams and leading quality assurance initiatives.
