We have been retained to assist our client with a Director of Distribution search located in the Greater Greensboro Area. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this position will be responsible for providing the leadership direction and organizational design to enable on-time shipments, support plant throughput volume, manage logistic spend, and ensure delivery of high-quality products to meet customer needs in a safe and efficient manner, optimizing cost and value-added return.
Responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for the logistic transportation network. This includes managing receiving, storage, counting, accuracy, all movement and security of the inventory.
Develop and maintain outbound distribution network and negotiating carrier contracts
Maintain and analyze logistics network and distribution center key metrics to improve departmental performance measures through utilization continuous improvement processes
Formulate, recommend and/or implement logistics policies and agreements that will guide the organization in maintaining and improving the company's competitive position and the profitability of their operation
Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality while reducing cost and waste
Manage resources to make real-time adjustments when needed and optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5+ years of experience at a director level related to logistics/distribution management
Proven success in logistics negotiations and freight loading management
Total Compensation:
Commensurate with Experience
