At the Newport, soon to be re-imagined The Sunny, we're redefining hospitality with vibrant spaces, exceptional service, and a fresh take on coastal elegance.


We're looking for a passionate and skilled Bartender to join our team. You'll be responsible for crafting innovative cocktails, delivering outstanding guest experiences, and contributing to the lively atmosphere that makes ¡VIVA! a standout destination.


The future Sunny in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach is poised to redefine the beach getaway experience offering a perfect blend of rich history and unparalleled amenities. The resort will feature 339 spacious guest rooms, an eclectic private art collection, six food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, spa & salon, ocean-front pool with tiki bar and fire pits, beach club, and over 22,000 square feet of event space, including a unique oceanfront terrace.



Responsibilities




What you will be doing:

• Prepare and serve beverages (cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks) according to recipes and guest preferences.


• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and supplies are stocked.


• Set up and break down the outdoor bar daily, including arranging furniture, restocking items, and securing equipment.


• Engage with guests to provide friendly and attentive service, creating a welcoming atmosphere.


• Monitor alcohol consumption and adhere to responsible service guidelines.


• Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the POS system.


• Manage outdoor conditions, including ensuring proper shade, ice supply, and drink quality despite weather elements.


• Follow safety and sanitation standards, especially in an open-air environment.


• Collaborate with servers and barbacks to ensure smooth service flow.


• Assist with light food preparation if the bar serves snacks or small bites.


• Restock supplies such as liquor, garnishes, glassware, and ice throughout the shift.


• Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.

Qualifications




What you bring to the table:

• 2+ years of bartending experience


• Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine merchandising specials


• Excellent customer service and communication skills


• Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology


• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
