We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator/Support Specialist with expertise in KACE, PDQ, or similar EMS (Endpoint Management Software) to join our team! The right candidate will manage and maintain patching and software updates for endpoints to ensure the security, stability, and performance of our endpoints
Duties and Responsibilities
Patch Management & Updates
Utilize KACE Systems Management Appliance and PDQ Deploy & PDQ Inventory to deploy patches, updates, and security fixes.
Monitor, schedule, and automate patching to minimize disruptions to business operations.
Evaluate and test updates in a controlled environment before company-wide deployment.
System Security & Compliance
Ensure all workstations and laptops comply with security policies and industry best practices.
Collaborate with security team to remediate vulnerabilities identified in patch assessments.
Maintain detailed patching records and generate compliance reports.
Endpoint Management & Troubleshooting
Perform troubleshooting of failed patch deployments and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Monitor system health, application performance, and update success rates.
Provide end-user support related to patching and software updates when needed.
Automation & Process Improvement
Optimize patching workflows using automation tools and custom scripting where necessary.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for patching processes.
Identify areas for process improvement to enhance IT efficiency and security.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
3-5+ years of experience in IT support or system administration with a focus on patch management.
Hands-on experience with KACE SMA and PDQ Deploy/Inventory is a plus.
Education:
A degree in Information Technology related field of study is not required but is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, patching and software deployment strategies.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
Familiarity with endpoint security tools and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, etc.).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an IT environment with 500+ endpoints.
Knowledge of Mac patching is a plus.
IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or KACE-related certifications.
