Job Title: Head of Enterprise Applications & Development


Location: 100% onsite in Irvine, CA


Employment Type: Direct-Hire


Compensation: $200,000 to 240,000 annual salary (based on experience) plus annual bonus

Partnered with a client who is seeking a hands-on, technical eader to a key role in shaping and ensuring the success of the organization's technology initiatives and advancing its IT to meet future demands.

Job Summary


  • The Head of Enterprise Applications & Development is responsible for overseeing the leadership and management of critical IT functions, including software development, quality assurance, database administration, and data integration. This hands-on, technical leader works collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the seamless operation of all IT systems. The role involves designing and implementing strategic plans for enterprise applications in support of organizational initiatives, projects, and goals.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the planning, development, and maintenance of enterprise applications.

  • Manage multiple development teams, including Salesforce CRM, custom .NET applications, and integrations between custom applications and enterprise systems like Anthology Student, Canvas, Oracle HCM, and CORE Clinical.

  • Develop and implement the organization's application development lifecycle, ensuring efficient, consistent, and reliable deployment of new applications and enhancements.

  • Oversee the DBA, QA, and software development teams.

  • Formulate strategies for integrating cloud-based solutions into the organization's infrastructure.

  • Communicate a unified strategic plan for application development and database management that supports and guides departments, campuses, and divisions.

  • Document requirements, features, and key criteria, establishing development schedules and tracking performance metrics.

  • Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring team members.

  • Manage both onshore and offshore application development teams.

  • Establish change management and lifecycle policies to support the organization's software platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with Administrative IT staff, providing subject matter expertise and delivering reports or information as required.

  • Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, Voice/Data Communications, Public/Business Administration, or a related field required.

  • 7-10 years of experience in strategic planning and enterprise architecture.

  • 10 years of experience in software development, building, and maintaining enterprise-level applications.

  • Proven experience in managing medium-to-large teams (25-50 individuals), including offshore and remote teams.

  • 10-15 years of overall experience in IT, with progressive responsibilities in multifaceted direction and planning.

  • In-depth knowledge of cutting-edge technology, systems, and tools.

  • Strong understanding of operating systems, networks, software applications, and hardware platforms.

  • Expertise in the administration of technology-based instructional systems.

  • Ability to develop and implement both short- and long-term strategies for database and database application platforms.

  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.

  • Proficient in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and making projections.

  • Exceptional professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.



Preferred


  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, Voice/Data Communications, Public/Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
