CEI, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator for LANL C-2541. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, and other related activities. This role requires a strong focus on safety, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with project teams to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, forklifts, and other machinery as required.
Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to execute tasks accurately.
Conduct site preparation, excavation, grading, trenching, and material movement.
Maintain equipment by cleaning, fueling, and performing minor repairs or adjustments.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other site personnel to meet project deadlines.
Monitor job site conditions to identify potential hazards and report issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of daily equipment use, maintenance, and project progress.

Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license.
Proven experience operating heavy machinery in construction or related fields.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and other relevant regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic repair procedures.
Strong hand-eye coordination and physical stamina to perform strenuous tasks.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrain.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and operating machinery.
Manual dexterity and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as needed.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
