Job Description:

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Communications Specialist to oversee our social media, content creation, and public relations efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our brand presence and engage with our audience across various platforms.


 


The Communications Specialist role with be based out of the Home Office in Aberdeen, SD with occasional travel as needed.


 


More about the position responsibilities:


Social Media Management:



  • Engage with followers and respond to comments and messages.

  • Ensure community social media posts are aligned with brand standards through approval process.

  • Provide training for creation of content at the community level.

  • Provide video best practice trainings to relevant Home Office and community leaders.

  • Collaborate with Creative Manager to develop and implement a Facebook event strategy.

  • Create, curate, and manage content for social media

  • Collaborate with Marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging.

  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics to adjust strategies.


 


Communications and Content



  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to help establish Primrose as an authoritative source and industry leader.

  • Create, curate, and manage content for blogs, directories, and websites.

  • Write and disseminate press releases for Home Office and communities regarding new staff/staff changes, building/expansion news, etc.

  • Generate industry/national-related or community specific news stories. 

  • Monitor all media and internet mentions of Primrose including reviews to ensure accuracy, assess appropriateness, gauge public perception, and provide responses when appropriate.

  • Assist in crisis communications for the company.

  • Assist with internal communications such as policy and procedures, investor correspondence, etc. at discretion of Director.

  • Assist with market research activities such as secret shopping, surveys, focus groups, etc.

  • Assist Director with developing brand standards and ensure consistent adherence to guidelines for all communications.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

  • Organize and keep communication and marketing resources updated.


 


The Successful Candidate will have:


 



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in social media management and content writing.

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms.

  • Proficiency in social media management tools and content management systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.

  • Experience with SEO and web traffic metrics is a plus.

  • Preferred 2 years professional experience in writing and/or publishing content.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timelines.

  • Strong computer and word processing skills, including desktop publishing.

  • Willingness to work productively with other departments.

  • Self-motivated and team player.

  • Able and willing to work flexible hours and travel.


 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
