Meet the team:



The Sr. Director, Global Commercial Strategy is an important role within the Dexcom Commercial organization, acting as a strategic executive leader and partner to the Finance and Corporate Strategy Functions. This position is responsible for developing and implementing commercial strategies based on insights to guide executive leaders, influence market and business decisions, secure strategic and operational benefits, and support both short-term results and long-term planning.


Reporting to the VP of Commercial Strategy and Operation, this role oversees key areas such as innovation portfolio analytics; global commercial CGM user, volume, and revenue forecasting for clinical and consumer; Long Range Planning and forecasting with Access, product portfolio, and commercial footprint roadmaps; and Global Forecasting Process Excellence. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop and execute commercial strategies, utilizing business insights to enhance this capability for Dexcom across various cross-functional teams.



Where you come in:




  • Commercial Strategies: Build and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals to drive growth and profitability for the Commercial Organization. Collaborate with Global Product Management and Regional Commercial teams (Sales, Marketing, Access) to develop strategic initiatives, define clear KPIs and methods of collection, and frequency of tracking to validate strategic assumptions are met.


  • Insight to Action: Analyze market data to develop targeted action plans and align with sales leaders to ensure accountability. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for share gains, expansion of channels and geographies, sales & marketing share of voice, and market access wins.


  • Collaborating Across Functions: Work with departments like Finance, Global Pricing, Product Marketing, Corporate Strategy, and Global Market Access to align functional priorities with corporate goals and support long-range forecasts and plans.


  • Forecasting: Manage annual and quarterly commercial forecasts for various regions and oversee the commercial long-range plan process and 5-year forecast with leadership teams. Aggregate regional forecasts for a global view. Collaborate with Corporate Strategy to integrate commercial forecast with long-range strategic plan.


  • Track in-quarter forecast updates with US Trade and country teams, and work closely with finance to synchronize forecasts with financial results. Evaluate the effectiveness of different sales and distribution channels and recommend new revenue opportunities and approaches.


  • Product Portfolio Valuation: Size market opportunities and develop business cases for new products and portfolio decisions. Enhance organizational capabilities for data-driven forecasts, prioritization, and life-cycle plans.


  • Market Intelligence: Collaborate with corporate intelligence and analytics team to provide commercial insights and comprehensive views on market events, competitor activities, and pipeline implications for the commercial organization.


  • Quarterly Reviews: Partner with commercial data and insights teams to provide input into external market assumptions for quarterly cross-functional strategic planning meeting.


  • Establish a vision for the Global Commercial Strategy team, motivate, develop, and lead the team to achieve tangible benefits for Dexcom.




What makes you successful:



  • 20 years of experience in finance, analytics, strategic consulting, business intelligence, or related field.


  • Proven track record of driving commercial success through data-driven strategies, insights, and forecasts.

  • Proven success integrating short and long-range forecasting models that are aligned with the desired future state of the business, including building, deploying, and embedding capabilities into an organization.


  • Learning Agility and Innovation Mindset: Demonstrate curiosity, share knowledge, test new approaches, and understand areas beyond functional accountabilities.


  • Problem Solving and Results Orientation: Address challenges proactively, use business judgment, connect functional accountability with broader outcomes, and balance long-term possibilities with immediate results.

  • Intellectual bandwidth and proven ability to understand and clearly prioritize a broad range of forecasting and strategy-building requests from across the Commercial organization.


  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the healthcare or medical technology industry and relevant markets.

Experience and Education Requirements:



  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of industry experience

  • 15+ years of successful leadership experience in relevant industry




Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
