We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to oversee quality control procedures and compliance in a highly regulated aerospace, defense, or nuclear power environment. This role ensures that all products meet specifications and customer requirements, maintains industry certifications, and manages quality assurance processes across engineering, manufacturing, and inspection teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management, certification compliance, and process improvement using LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Processes:
Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and inspection teams to address design, tooling, cost, and procedural challenges related to product quality.
Review raw material certifications, approve material for production, and oversee critical testing and inspection procedures.
Conduct investigative work to resolve quality deviations and develop new inspection methods and procedures.
Serve as the primary interface with customers and vendors on all quality-related matters.
Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Develop data-driven quality initiatives that enhance product reliability, process efficiency, and supplier quality.
Implement and sustain quality systems, facilitating the use of LEAN, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools.
Certifications, Inspections, and Audits:
Manage and maintain industry certifications such as AS9100D, ASME, NADCAP, and NUPIC.
Oversee and execute internal and external audits, including quality system audits, procedural audits, and product inspections.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements while continuously improving auditing processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
4-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance within Aerospace, Defense, or Nuclear Power industries.
Strong understanding of AS9100D, ASME, NADCAP, NUPIC certifications, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other quality analysis tools.
