JOB PURPOSE
The Reliability Engineer for Electrical Systems drives the overall health of critical systems across our facility. For each of the major systems Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls, the Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring success in evaluating and improving the reliability and performance of existing critical infrastructure, sustaining equipment operational availability through maintenance program design, providing ongoing technical support to the Site Operations Teams, as well as providing systems reliability and maintainability feedback to the Design Engineering teams for future design considerations.
YOUR JOB
The Reliability Engineerfor Electrical Systems is responsible for ensuring the overall functional health of critical power systems. This role includes oversight of facility acceptance testing, electrical system maintenance planning, and providing technical support to Site Operations. The ideal candidate will be fully familiar with electrical systems arrangements, equipment types, protection components, switchgear automation and control components, onsite power generation, and critical power distribution. They will also have the capability to understand potential system failures, appropriate failure response actions, and maintenance and electrical testing techniques.
The responsibilities will be as follows:
Maintenance & Reliability: Design maintenance programs to optimize equipment operability, reduce downtime, and combat obsolescence. Provide technical support during critical system failures and validate maintenance performance through data analysis.
Design & Construction Collaboration: Ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations by working with Design Engineering and Construction teams. Review equipment submittals and assess maintenance feasibility.
Risk Management & Analysis: Develop risk management plans, perform Root-Cause Failure Analysis, and conduct system availability, capacity, and life cycle cost analyses.
Support & Training: Provide technical guidance to Facility Operators and ensure site teams are proficient in system operation and maintenance.
Performance & Asset Management: Analyze Asset Utilization, Equipment Efficiency, and Remaining Useful Life. Develop response procedures for critical system failures and improve performance through Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analysis.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
You will definitely have;
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field; 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering or electrical system maintenance.
Technical Skills: Expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear automation, and failure analysis. Experience with testing, maintenance planning, and risk mitigation.
Problem-Solving & Analysis: Strong skills in Root-Cause Failure Analysis, risk management, and system reliability optimization.
Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and document reliability insights effectively.
Certifications & Tools: CRE, PE, or similar certifications are a plus. Proficiency in reliability software, CMMS, and data analysis tools.
