In this role, you will play a critical part in influencing product design decisions by providing reliable, systematic energy and economic analysis alongside deep thermal insights. You will work collaboratively across teams, directly contributing to the design and implementation of advanced thermal solutions. You will actively participate in design reviews and technology investigations, ensuring seamless interaction between the product design team and the application engineering team. We are looking for someone with genuine curiosity and a strong sense of design ownership, with the ability to deeply understand the 'why' behind design decisions and proactively drive optimal solutions that balance thermal performance, economic value, and customer needs.
Responsibilities: • Drive TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) optimization, focusing on customer-specific concerns and operational pain points. • Develop and enhance custom simulation tools to address a wide range of application scenarios. • Deliver comprehensive thermal and economic reports at the project level, including recommendations and technical requirements for product development teams. • Define, specify, and optimize thermal control parameters, ensuring efficient performance across variable environmental and operational conditions. • Perform system-level thermal and economic analysis, translating technical insights into executive-level presentations to support decision-making. • Clearly and regularly communicate project status, analysis findings, and results to cross-functional teams and senior management. • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for the performance and reliability of thermal solutions, ensuring they meet both technical goals and business objectives. • Other tasks assigned.
Technical Expertise Required? Deep technical and functional expertise in: • Conduction, convection (both natural and forced), and radiation heat transfer processes. • Numerical modeling techniques and computational thermal analysis concepts. • Thorough understanding of fundamental thermal design principles, including: • Thermal interface materials (TIMs), heat sink design, airflow optimization, and system-level heat dissipation. • Strong modeling skills, with demonstrated experience in: • Accurately capturing complex geometries in thermal and fluid simulations. • Proficiency with thermal simulation software (CFD, FEA) and custom code development using MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar tools. • Proven track record of applying simulation results to directly inform and optimize product design. • Strong academic writing and documentation capabilities, with the ability to clearly present technical metrics and analysis results in ways that directly support economic and total cost of ownership (TCO) goals. • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, or closely related fields strongly preferred.
Qualifications and Additional Requirements • Genuine curiosity about emerging thermal technologies and evolving system-level requirements. • Strong analytical mindset with experience integrating thermal and economic analysis to support design trade-offs. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, bridging thermal design, product development, and customer-facing applications engineering. • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in simplifying complex thermal and economic concepts for non-technical stakeholders. • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work. • Passion in startup for long term achievement is desired. • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
