Position: Fiscal DirectorReporting Office: Remote/Bishop, CA/California Residents OnlyPay Range: $53.01-$71.10Job Type: Full-time, salary, exemptBenefits: Employee retirement with employer contributions, medical insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick accruals.(Benefits available after successful completion of the introductory period.)Job Description: Responsible for the immediate, short-term, and long-term fiscal solvency of the agency through management of organizational cash flow and forecasting. Ensures effective fiscal operations and performance through policy, guidance, and direct support. Safeguards and maximizes the organizations fiscal resources, creates a fiscal environment that supports the mission and values of the organization, and ensures the success of the agency through active participation as a member of the senior leadership team. This is not a mandated reporting position. Reports to Executive Director.Qualifications:Required: Dedication to Wild Iriss mission, vision, and values. At least 5 years of progressively responsible successful experience in financial administration or accounting supervision Current and valid CPA license; BA/BS in business, accounting, finance, or related field. Experience in working with government guidelines and regulations. Proven experience in producing and maintaining accurate financial records including preparation of government audit. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and federal and state legislation affecting non-profits. Ability to perform a wide range of accounting tasks including general bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, project/grant management, auditing, and human resource management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; ability to learn agency specific software and platforms. Ability to communicate financial concepts to programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not have finance backgrounds. Valid drivers license, insurance, and reliable transportation. Must abide by regulations regarding confidentiality, ethics, and Wild Iris policies. A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making. The ability to work well under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision. Conduct, appearance, and work performance of professional quality. Willing to undergo a live scan background check.Preferred: Experience managing multiple federal, state, and private grants. Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor certified pursuant to California Evidence Code Article 8.7, Section 1037.1 At least one year of experience with a similar agency. At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties. Bilingual and biliterate English and Spanish.Essential Job Duties: Effectively communicate urgent financial matters to the Executive Director. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate consultants and contractors. Monthly reports to Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors on grant management and profit and loss. Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency in the absence of the Executive Director. Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met. Maintain agency fiscal records and payroll personnel files. Review the agencys business insurance policies with insurance vendors. Oversee the management of all leases, contracts, grants, and other financial commitments. Provide or oversee fiscal orientation to all new employees. Manage automatic sync between the Gusto payroll system and QuickBooks online to ensure all information transfers correctly. Prepare annual reports such as tax forms for vendors (1099s). Review deposits entered by the fiscal admin. Participate in annual budgeting and planning process for the overall agency and each individual grant. Review all transactions in the Divvy credit card system to ensure compliance with policies and grants. Manage automatic sync between the Divvy credit card system and QuickBooks online to ensure all information transfers correctly. Prepare month end payroll allocations and general expense allocations in compliance with grant requirements. Prepare and submit grant budget modifications, invoicing, and year-end closings for each grant by grantor and agency deadlines to ensure timely reimbursement from the state and other grantors; respond to grantor inquires on budgetary matters. Ensure compliance with fiscal/budgeting terms, rules, and regulations for each agency grant contract; create internal controls. Prepare a monthly report of all grant reimbursements and expenditures to date. Prepare for and assist with grantor audits, promptly respond to audit findings, implement changes and procedures as necessary, and prepare and submit all related reports; prepare for and assist with organizational audits.
